The Suicide Prevention Coalition of Colorado (SPCC) was
formed in 1999, when concerned citizens set out to create a statewide
agency with the purpose of preventing suicide and creating a resource

13 Reasons Why not
While a controversial new show on Netflix highlights thirteen reasons why the main character wants to die, students at Oxford High School in Michigan want to highlight thirteen reasons why they want to live.
For thirteen days, individual students will play a recorded message over the school intercom that highlights a challenge they are overcoming and a classmate who has helped them overcome.
“I watched the series. I thought it accurately depicted the problems that teenagers in high school are facing now. But it was incredibly troubling to me that suicide was portrayed as being, almost, inevitable, like she had no other option,” said Pam Fine, Dean of Oxford High School.
Anyone who is experiencing suicidal thoughts should contact Colorado Crisis Services: http://coloradocrisisservices.org/ or 844-493-TALK(8255).
